Rhode Island Real Estate Salesperson License
To receive your Rhode Island real estate license you must be at least 18 years of age and have three references (see state for details).
Real Estate Broker License
In order to become a broker you must complete the state application with $10 application fee, be of legal age, be a legal resident of the United States and show evidence of 1 full year of experience as a salesperson from the date of application. You may also choose 90 hours of classroom study from an accredited school (see state requirements) and pass the state exam.
Prior to renewal of any Broker's or Salesperson's License, the Licensee will show evidence of attendance and successful completion during the preceding two year period of eighteen clock hours of real estate educational courses. Six of those hours must be from the following core courses:
- Law of Agency
- Law of Contracts
- Fair Housing
- Lead Hazard Mitigation
- RI License Law & Ethics
- Twelve hours - Any courses approved by the Real Estate Commission.
