Georgia Salesperson License
An individual applying for a salesperson's license within three months from the date of taking the licensing examination must pay an original license fee of $170.00, and an examination fee.  Any person making application for a salesperson's license more than three months but less than twelve months from the date of taking the examination must pay an original license fee of $340.00, and an examination fee.  The examination fee is $91.00. These fees cover all fees due for the first four years of licensure.

In order to become licensed, an individual must be a high school graduate or the holder of a certificate of equivalency. Each applicant for the salesperson’s examination must: Complete the 75 hour pre-licensing salesperson's course approved by the Georgia Real Estate Commission; OR complete 10 quarter hours or 6 semester hours in real estate courses at an accredited college or university. College credits to meet this education requirement must meet normal degree requirements. Special short courses or adult education courses will not meet the education requirement unless the college or university gives full academic credit for the course or the course is a Commission approved course.

Any person making application for a broker's license must pay a total fee of $170.00, and an examination fee. The examination fee is $91.00. These fees cover all fees due for the first four years of licensure. The Georgia Real Estate Broker examinations are administered via computer by Applied Measurement Professionals (AMP) at four test centers throughout the state of Georgia. The examinations are offered five days a week in Marietta and Lilburn, and Thursday through Saturday in Macon and Savannah.

AMP must request, and have obtained from the Commission, verification of three years of active salesperson experience obtained in Georgia before the broker license can be issued. Broker Applicants need to contact AMP at 1.800.345.6559 to schedule the exam. The experience request must be made to the Commission by AMP, not the broker applicant.

Because state policies can change without notice we recommend that you follow up with the state in which you wish to receive your license in and verify all of the state rules, regulations and educational requirements. If you find that any of the information on this site is incorrect please e-mail us so we can correct it immediately.
