Do you aspire to work in the legal profession? Do you have a dream to be able to work to help individuals who need adequate legal representation? If you said yes to each of these questions, then you should definitely consider a career within the legal profession. Currently, there are several levels of law degrees that students can choose from in order to be adequately prepared to seek employment in this industry. According to research, the potential employment for individuals in the legal industry is expected to be about average of that for any other profession. Find the top law schools in the country below and do your own research on which one is the best for you. Although fierce competition is to be expected, there are many different venues that you will be qualified to seek employment within. It is important to note that you will not be able to practice as a lawyer just by simply completing the educational requirements; you must also earn a passing score on the bar examination.

Depending upon the type of law you choose to practice you may spend much of your time preparing and examining contracts that are related to insurance, licenses, sales, and purchases. In addition, you may be asked to provide legal advice to specific organizations regarding their legal actions, resolutions, and forms. You may also be expected to protect a company you work for from any legitimate legal risks that they may be facing. In order to be able to work as a lawyer you can pursue one of three degree programs: the Juris Doctor, the Master of Laws, or the Doctor of Juridical Science. The Juris Doctor degree program is the one that will qualify you to practice law in the United States. After completing your undergraduate degree program you will be able to enroll in a Juris Doctor program, which will take you approximately three years to complete. However, if your college or university allows you to combine this degree program with another master’s degree program then it may take you longer than three years to complete the requirements. While the first year of this degree program will focus on basic topics of law, your second and third year will allow you to choose an area of specialty.
