New Jersey Real Estate License
Are you looking to become a real estate salesperson in New Jersey? If so you need to be at least 18 years of age and have a valid high school diploma or GED. You will need to complete a 75 hour real estate course that was approved by the state. You will then be required to take the state exam and receive a passing score.
All applicants for licensure as a broker or salesperson must meet the standards for good character and fulfill the educational requirements for licensure established by law, and pass an examination conducted under the supervision of the Commission. The content of the pre-licensure education courses is prescribed in regulations adopted by the Commission. The Commission also licenses the schools which provide the courses and the instructors who teach them. Instructors must fulfill educational requirements and pass an examination to qualify for licensure.
New Jersey Real Estate Brokers License
You will also be required, just like salesperson license, to be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED. You will need to complete a 150 hour state approved course and 30 of those hours will need to be ethics and ethical conduct. You will need to be an active and hold a valid real estate salesperson license for 3 years before becoming a broker.
