North Dakota Real Estate License Requirements

North Dakota Real Estate License
The state requires that you be at least 18 years of age or older to have a real estate license. You will first need to complete at least 30 hours of approved real estate courses approved by the state. You will then need to pass the state exam and complete 15 hour of post-license course within 12 months of receiving your license.

Brokers License
Becoming a broker does require more education but the same is true as with the salespersons license except you need 60 hours of work and you need to have 2 years of prior work experience as a salesperson before you can get your license. All applicants must have a reputation for honesty, truthfulness and fair dealings.

Every two years you will need to complete 16 hours of approved continuing education courses. When you take the state exam you will need to pay a $130 examination fee. North Dakota also has reciprocity with other states. Please contact the state if you currently hold a real estate license in another state and would like to practice in ND.

Because state policies can change without notice we recommend that you follow up with the state in which you wish to receive your license in and verify all of the state rules, regulations and educational requirements. If you find that any of the information on this site is incorrect please e-mail us so we can correct it immediately.
