Real Estate Salesperson License
In order to become a real estate salesperson in Massachusetts you must be 18 years of age and complete 24 classroom hours of approved real estate courses. You will then be required to take and pass the state exam.
Massachusetts Real Estate Broker License
If you are wanting to become a real estate broker you must be at least 18 years of age and the applicant’s principal residence needs to be in MA for at least 1 year prior to issuance of your license. You will need to have already been active as a real estate salesperson for 1 full year. You are required to take 30 classroom hours of approved real state courses. Prior to each renewal you will be required to take 6-12 hours of continuing education during the 24 months prior to each renewal.
Fees for your license renewal are very competitive with other states and the cost is $127 for each the brokers license and associate brokers license and $93 for the salesperson license.

Broker license
To qualify for a real estate broker license you will need to be an applicant shall be of good character and reputation and be at least 18 years old. You need to have completed successfully a course in real estate approved by the Commission for real estate brokers that includes a 3 clock hour course in real estate ethics approved by the Commission; and have been a licensed real estate salesperson and have actively and lawfully provided real estate brokerage services for at least 3 years.
