Idaho Real Estate License Requirements

Real Estate Salesperson
In order to start your real estate career and become a salesperson in Idaho you must be 18 years of age. You must complete 45 hours of module 1 and 45 hours of module 2 training or provide proof of a law degree within the 5 years proceeding the date of application from an accredited law school.

In order to become a real estate broker in Idaho you must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED. You’ll need to be a current real estate salesperson for 2 full years before becoming a broker. As a broker you’ll need to complete a pre-license course as you did when you were a salesperson. Contact your local school or state commission office for details. You’ll need a total of 90 hours of classroom or online schooling for your license. For continuing education you need to complete 12 hours every 2 years. License fees run $150 per year. Idaho has reciprocity with Wyoming, Oregon and Montana.

Because state policies can change without notice we recommend that you follow up with the state in which you wish to receive your license in and verify all of the state rules, regulations and educational requirements. If you find that any of the information on this site is incorrect please e-mail us so we can correct it immediately.
