The cost of a degree depends on many
factors. When dealing with a state university they have
fixed costs and many of them are non-profit schools. A
junior college for example is a great place to receive your
early training as the costs can be less than $30 per credit
hour. This also will vary depending on the state and what
school you wish to attend.
When dealing with an online school the
prices are pretty close to each other because of
competition. A typical two year degree can cost between
$3000-9000. One thing to consider is if you choose a live
school vs. an online school is your living expenses as well
as other costs associated with going to a live school. Many
online schools your tuition pays for books and supplies
where the tuition costs for a live school will not.
Another thing to consider is if you
want to attend a state school in the state where you reside
or if you are looking at schools outside of your state. If
outside of your state the tuition can be triple the amount.
This process discourages students from attending schools
outside their state. The state benefits if you choose one in
the state where you pay taxes.
At a private university you will pay
the most of any other form of education and you can expect
to pay from $12,000-30,000 per year for your education.
Competition is very strong to be accepted to private state
ran universities so you will need to be prepared to take the
SAT exam and score high in many states.
Because of these high fees more and
more people are finding good deals online to take the
majority of their course. This allows them to continue to
work and earn money while receiving their education. Once
the student has most of their general requirements taken
care of they transfer the credits to the higher end
universities. This allows them to pay as low as a few
hundred dollars per credit hour online or even as low as $30
per credit hour at a junior college and then earn their main
degree from the more prestigious university.
